Day 7: Architecture and Production Checklist

Day 7: Architecture and Production Checklist

By now you have seen the main pieces: CLI, tools, memory, skills, MCP, gateway, cron, and sandboxing. The production question is not whether Hermes Agent can act. The question is whether it can act safely, observably, and repeatedly.

System view

The agent loop turns user intent into actions. The prompt builder provides instructions and context. Provider resolution chooses the model. Tool dispatch runs approved capabilities. Memory stores durable facts. Gateway and cron bring in events. Logs and verification close the loop.

Production checklist

  • Least-privilege permissions are configured.
  • Secrets are not stored in memory or article content.
  • Risky actions require approval.
  • Every recurring workflow has logs.
  • Failure modes are documented.
  • Content and skills are versioned.
  • There is a rollback path for automated edits.

How to scale usage

Add one workflow at a time. Keep the first version narrow, measure whether it saves time, then expand permissions only when the workflow is predictable.

Your task

Pick the strongest workflow from this 7-day path and write a one-page operating note: owner, schedule, tools, permissions, expected output, verification, and rollback. That note is what turns an experiment into an operational assistant.
